Overview

Institute for Ayurved Studies & Research (IAS & R), Faculty of Ayurved (F.O.A), Shri Krishna AYUSH University (S.K.A.U), Kurukshetra, is a premier institution dedicated to the preservation, propagation, and advancement of Ayurveda - India’s ancient system of medicine, integrated with modern scientific approaches. The institute functions under the norms and regulations of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and is affiliated with Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra, Haryana. This institution was established on 1 May 1972 as Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Gulzarilal Nanda Ji. It was later incorporated into Shri Krishna AYUSH University under Act No. 25 of 2017, making it part of India’s first AYUSH-focused university.

The institute offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses along with the range of academic activities and degree programs in Ayurveda:

Campus & Infrastructure

The institute combines teaching with clinical practice:

  • Ayurvedic Hospital: Attached hospital providing OPD (Out-Patient) and IPD (In-Patient) services across multiple Ayurvedic specialties.
  • Facilities: Library, Laboratories, herbal garden, hostels, and essential medical diagnostic services (e.g., X-Ray, ECG).
  • Herbal Garden: Includes a large collection of medicinal plants used for teaching, research, and Ayurvedic pharmacology.
